AT 319 Week 8 - Basic Raster Analysis

This lab covered spatial analysis and modeling with raster data. The first part had to do with resampling, combination, and filtering. The area of interest is Mount Shasta. I started with comparing two different hillshades at two different resolutions, with one having a 3m cell size and one haivng a 9m cell size (Figure 1 and Figure 2).

I then filtered the hillshade of Mt Shasta to remove areas with noise (figure 3)

The final product consisted of applying a color gradient to the DEM (Figure 4).

For part 2, I used a set of data covering Duluth, Minnesota, to figure out road building costs, which included doing a distance cost, a slope cost, and a mask, to find the final cost (Figure 5).
